Director, Adult Lung Disease Institute
The Department of Medicine at The Methodist Hospital invites applications for the position of Head, Division of Pulmonary Medicine and Director of a new Comprehensive Adult Lung Center. This is a unique opportunity to build a world-class unit of physicians and scientists into a leading center for translational lung research. The Division Head will be responsible for academic leadership, developing basic and clinical research, and creating a robust educational program (including the establishment of an ACGME-approved fellowship in Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Medicine). The Methodist Hospital has one of the largest lung transplantation programs in the US. Candidates must be Board Certified in Pulmonary Medicine and be eligible for a medical license in Texas. An academic appointment at the Weill Cornell Medical College is available, commensurate with academic accomplishments. The Division Head position is associated with an endowed chair and a highly competitive salary and benefits package. This position offers an energetic and visionary leader the opportunity to develop an innovative new Division in a rapidly expanding academic medical center. Candidates must have outstanding clinical skills, a national reputation in the field, administrative experience, and substantial scholarly achievements. Additional faculty positions, research startup funds, and appropriate laboratory space will be available to help build a strong academic unit.
