MDA is seeking a Medical Oncologist in Wisconsin.
Locum Medical Oncologist/Hematologist will work and share call with two staff physicians and probably another Locum Physician. With successful recruitment, only one Locum Physician may be needed.
An average of 10-12 patients (new - 1 hour appt./follow-up - 30 minute appt.) are seen per day in the Cancer Center 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. The practice is about 60% Oncology/40% Hematology.
A Physician Assistant works collaboratively with the Medical Oncology/Hematology Physicians, primarily seeing patients in follow-up.
Shared call will be every 3rd or 4th week/weekend and includes seeing hospitalized patients in consultation and responding to calls received from other providers within the medical facility.
Locum Physician may be scheduled for extra call when staff physicians provide outreach services at regional sites (each staff Medical Oncologist/Hematologist has two outreach days per month). Locum Physician will not participate in outreach services.
The multi-specialty Clinic, including primary care and specialty care services, is attached to the 250-bed Hospital. The Cancer Center (across the street from the Hospital/Clinic) includes Radiation Oncology along with chemotherapy. Palliative and Hospice services are available.
EMR system is Cerner. Training will be included during orientation. There will also be training in a 2nd EMR system specific to entering orders for chemotherapy.
Ideally, the board-certified Locum Medical Oncology/Hematologist will able to commit to at least three months, with the possibility of extending.
