Medical Director, Cardiology Heart Failure
Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, Connecticut—a member of Trinity Health, the nation’s second-largest nonprofit health system—seeks a BC/BE Advanced Heart Failure Cardiologist to join our highly skilled team, as Medical Director, Heart Failure Program at the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute of Connecticut.
Established in 1991, the Hoffman Heart and Vascular Institute was the first comprehensive heart institute in Southern New England and remains a regional leader in Heart Failure prevention, diagnosis, treatment and research, earning multiple Get with the Guidelines – Heart Failure Gold Plus + Target Performance Achievement Awards from the AHA/ACC. In 2016, our program was also awarded Advanced Certification in Heart Failure by the Joint Commission—the only program in New England to receive this distinction. Our program also participates in a regional shared care program for LVAD and transplant, both inpatient and outpatient.
This is an outstanding opportunity to demonstrate strong clinical, academic and administrative skills as you direct, collaborate with and inspire this well-established group. The responsibilities for Medical Director of Heart Failure Program include overseeing its 28-bed Inpatient Heart Failure Unit, supported by a dedicated team of Advanced Practitioners. In addition, you will support strategic initiatives, including program development, design and implementation of clinical protocols and processes, and direct involvement in business planning for new and expanded services. You will also work to ensure appropriate access to services for patients and referring providers, closely monitor quality, access and patient satisfaction metrics; and partner as needed on educational, research and related strategic initiatives. Along with your administrative duties, you will have a busy clinical practice and research time.
Saint Francis is proud of its history of provider collaboration. Our practice model empowers our physicians to work at their highest level—and allows time for professional development and family life. If you are focused on providing outstanding patient-centered care, it’s time to join Saint Francis.
