The General Anesthesiology Department in Cleveland Clinic is seeking academic oriented, board certified Anesthesiologists who are interested in joining a professional development focused team.

The Department of General Anesthesiology along with other departments within the Anesthesiology Institute, is dedicated to serve a wide variety of surgical patients in a multidisciplinary and intensive care situations. A subspecialty focused team of anesthesiologists and intensivists are working towards the excellence in patient care, advanced education and excellence in research.

The Department of General Anesthesiology is an academically oriented group of 65 anesthesiologists and 100 nurse anesthetists providing perioperative care for over 46,000 patients annually. This department provides full perioperative anesthesia services (including pre-operative evaluation, acute pain service and adult medical emergency team) except cardiac, pediatric and chronic pain. One of the most important highlights of the Department of General Anesthesiology is its emphasis in professional development of their team members. Thus faculty are encouraged to identify interests and advance in their area of expertise.

Candidates with at least 3-5 years of experience in an academic environment are encouraged to take advantage of this recruitment and apply. Those interested in training students, residents, and fellows would find an environment suitable to advance their teaching skills with the support of department leadership. Extensive clinical research opportunities are also available with close cooperation with the department of Outcomes Research. A faculty appointment at a rank commensurate with experience is also available at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
