And the Center for Vaccine Development at the University of Maryland School of Medicine are recruiting for an Assistant/Associate Professor to join their rapidly expanding, multidisciplinary vaccine research program. The CVD is a well-funded research enterprise that encompasses the full range of vaccinology, with highly successful programs in vaccine-preventable disease epidemiology and pathogenesis, vaccine immunology, vaccine development, clinical trials, and population-based field studies. The CVD resides within a newly-created Institute for Global Health, with fully equipped clinical, laboratory and in-patient and outpatient challenge facilities in Baltimore, MD as well as international field sites in Mali, Malawi, Myanmar, Chile and elsewhere. This opening provides the exciting opportunity to join a collaborative and accomplished research team to design, execute and lead clinical trials of vaccines and therapeutics at domestic and international sites. The integration of clinical research scientists with epidemiologists and basic scientists provides a rich environment to expand or develop an independent research program in vaccinology. The faculty appointment will be at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, non-tenure track, commensurate with experience and based on guidelines for faculty appointment at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. This is a full-time faculty position, based in Baltimore. Qualifications: #149;MD or DO degree or equivalent; #149;Board certified in Internal Medicine; #149;At least 5 years of experience in internal medicine; #149;Experience conducting clinical trials of vaccines and therapeutics at domestic and international sites. Preferred Characteristics: #149;Subspecialty training in infectious diseases, or another subspecialty with strong interest in infectious diseases; #149;MPH or MSc in clinical trials, or equivalent experience; #149;Track record of success in obtaining research funding; #149;Experience and training in vaccinology; #149;Experience navigating regulatory requirements for clinical trials at domestic and international sites; #149;Experience in conducting research in international settings.
