University of Virginia School of Medicine, Charlottesville, Virginia. The U.Va. School of Medicine invites nominations and applications for the position of Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. The Department has a long tradition of excellence in research, education, and clinical practice. Our mission is to enrich the quality of human life by improvement of health, advancement of medical and scientific knowledge, and creation of an environment for professional preparation of individuals dedicated to health care service. The new Chair will provide strategic leadership and direction for all aspects of the department. The ideal candidate will bring proven leadership skills to the position, will have a strong sense for how to manage all three missions, will have the ability to lead through change in a collegial manner, and be able to successfully leverage the many collaborative opportunities that exist at the University. This person will complement the strengths of the department and will have made significant contributions in the research arena. Candidates must hold a MD or equivalent, be board certified in otolaryngology, and have academic credentials appropriate for appointment at the rank of Full Professor.
