The Division of Cardiology in the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking outstanding academically oriented candidates for the Directorship of its Heart Failure Research Program. Candidates should have excellent training; a strong record of scholarship and teaching, a demonstrated capacity to secure external funding; and an established, high-impact research program.

The successful candidate must have significant evidence of national recognition for their research, as evidenced by a strong original clinical research, a record of publication in top tier Cardiology journals, a strong funding record, invited presentations at national Cardiology meetings, and prior service on national grant review panels.

Candidates should have a strong interest in education, and have previously completed didactic graduate-level (Masters or PhD degree) training in clinical/translational research. In addition to the focus on independently-funded scholarship, responsibilities of the position could include clinical service in Cardiology, instruction of medical students, house staff, Heart Failure fellows, and supervision of research nurses and coordinators. Minimum qualifications include a PhD, MD, or equivalent with significant research training in an appropriate field, postdoctoral experience, and an outstanding record of research accomplishments.

Significant institutional support exists for this position, including an Endowed Chair. The Ideal candidate would be eligible to become licensed to practice medicine in the state of Georgia by the start date and be a board certified cardiologist who is BE/BC in Advanced Heart Failure. Track and rank will be commensurate with experience
