The Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Michigan Health System invites applications from qualified faculty specializing in hematology and oncology to lead its Division of Hematology and Oncology. The Division Chief position is a full-time appointment reporting directly to the Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine. This highly ranked division is comprised of 70 faculty members, has robust NIH- and VA-funded research programs, participates as an integral member of a nationally-recognized NCI-supported Cancer Center, and operates a strong academic fellowship training program. Responsibilities include overseeing clinical care delivery, promoting research activities, and engaging in the training and professional development of students, house officers, fellows, and junior faculty. Candidates must have an MD or equivalent degree, be board-certified in hematology and oncology, and be eligible for appointment as a tenured Associate or Full Professor at the University of Michigan. Desired qualifications include collaborative leadership and administrative experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, established track record in directing an active research program, and proven mentorship ability.
