Alaska offers financial, cultural and recreational opportunities beyond compare, plus there is no state income or sales tax! Seward is Alaska's most popular tourist town, nearly doubling in population to 6,000 people during the summer months. And for good reason: It's just a (glorious) two-hour drive from Anchorage and sits at the head of Resurrection Bay, one of the most scenic and productive sports fishing bodies in the world. With soaring cliffs, misty forested fjords and protected ocean waters teeming with game fish, whales, sea otters, and more, Seward is iconic coastal Alaska. There's a lot to do on land, too, with a renowned sea life center, an abundance of dining choices - most offering incredible fresh seafood - frequent festivals, and hundreds of miles of hiking trails within a short drive of town.
