The Department of Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking full-time teaching faculty members to join its unique Inpatient Clinician Educator Service, a group of physician-teachers whose academic interests span a diverse array of clinical expertise. The vision statement guiding the Service is 'To teach the future of Medicine through innovative educational strategies, excellence in clinical care, and commitment to lifelong learning.' Successful candidates will become part of the core teaching faculty in the Department of Medicine and hold faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School. Responsibilities include supervising and teaching medical housestaff and medical students in the care of inpatients. Service members also play key roles in departmental education activities including curriculum development, competency assessment, and faculty development. Preference will be given to candidates with substantial post-residency experience and with portfolios that demonstrate excellence in teaching clinical medicine. Salary and level of academic appointment will be commensurate with experience and accomplishment.
