  • One full time, board certified psychiatrist needed

  • Sixty percent of time (24 hours/week) working in a clinical practice as a Mental Health Integration provider

  • Forty percent of time (16 hours/week) working in an administrative role as the Medical Director of Mental Health Integration

  • Employment position with the Intermountain Medical Group

Position description

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Physician will be assigned to primary care clinics/departments to support MHI services.

  • Partner with the primary care provider and other team members to clarify the patient’s diagnosis and help determine complexity and plan treatment.  Consult with the primary care provider and support treatment of patients and family.

  • Utilize standardized screening and assessment tools; assess, interpret, and activate team members based on complexity.

  • Work with referring providers to establish interventions and stabilize and improve functioning for the patient with a goal of returning the patient to the referring provider, or other identified specialist, for long-term management.

  • Provide routine consultations (face to face, or phone-based) for the care management team.

  • Participate in team meetings.  Provide case review and education to the care team regarding management of specific conditions, symptoms or patient populations.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Champion MHI in the Central Region.

  • Understand the MHI Care Process Model and its role in team-based care.

  • Provide clinical oversight of behavioral health prescribers and therapists who are providing MHI services.  Promote adherence to MHI care process models and evidence based practices.

  • On-board new MHI providers using the New MHI Provider Checklist.

  • Introduce and implement MHI into new primary care clinics/departments.

  • In partnership with system and regional leaders, achieve a routinized level of performance in all Central Region primary care clinics/departments.

  • Collaborate with Behavioral Health Clinical Program leadership, regional medical directors, operations officer, regional clinical managers and MHI champions to meet MHI goals and objectives.

  • Collaborate with team members in MHI locations, ensuring an understanding of roles and responsibilities.

  • Regularly round at MHI locations and departments, documenting suggestions and ideas raised.  Include actions taken and resolution.

  • Provide education to community members and behavioral health partners.

  • Attend meetings and participate on committees as requested.
