DEPARTMENT OF INTERNAL MEDICINE, DIVISION OF NEPHROLOGY
The VA Ann Arbor Healthcare System (VAAAHS) and the University of Michigan, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Nephrology invite applications from experienced nephrology faculty at the Associate or Professor level. This individual will serve as the Nephrology Section Chief at the VA, and will hold a combined appointment between VAAAHS and the University of Michigan Medical School. The VA Nephrology Section Chief provides academic and administrative leadership for faculty who hold VA appointments and interacts with medical students, residents, fellows, and other care providers. This position reports to the Nephrology Division Chief, and VA Chief of Medicine Service. The Division of Nephrology is consistently ranked among the top nephrology programs by USNWR, is comprised of over 50 nephrology faculty, has a robust NIH-funded research program, leads a long-standing George M. O’Brien Kidney Research Center, and operates a fellowship program with a recently refunded T32 postdoctoral fellowship grant. Candidates must have a MD or equivalent degree, be Board Certified in Nephrology, and be eligible for appointment as Associate or Full p\Professor at the University of Michigan. Desired qualifications include: demonstrated collaborative leadership and administrative experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, active research leadership and productivity, and proven mentorship ability.
