Founding Head, Division of Medicine

Baptist MD Anderson Cancer Center in Jacksonville, Florida is seeking an experienced patient-focused, academically oriented medical oncologist as the founding Head of the Division of Medicine to develop all components of medical oncology and subspecialties including outstanding clinical care, scholarship to include clinical and other research, and continuing/graduate medical education. Baptist MD Anderson provides comprehensive, integrated oncology services in partnership with the nation’s leading cancer center, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Baptist Health in Jacksonville is one of three unique health systems in the United States to be chosen to replicate MD Anderson’s multidisciplinary and proven model and philosophy of care, including clinical integration with clinical trials, all designed to ensure validated quality care for the cancer patient.

The Division Head will serve as the Physician-in-Chief for the Cancer Center. S/he will be responsible for all medical oncology clinical and academic services, recruitment of Department Chairs and faculty in all subspecialties, faculty development, and fiscal oversight. This extraordinary opportunity will provide the visionary leader a platform to develop the future model of integrated oncology care. The successful candidate will possess excellent clinical and communication skills, work collaboratively with like-minded individuals, and have the responsibility, authority, and support necessary to build a sustainable and renewable oncology service. The Division Head will report to the Medical Director and will be a member of the Executive Committee.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to multidisciplinary oncology care, a level of achievement to warrant appointment as an Adjunct Professor at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, proven skills in leadership, faculty recruitment, and retention, and a track record of clinical and academic accomplishment.
