We are seeking a board certified provider with critical care experience. Twelve 12-hour shifts per month (days & nights) in a hospital setting.
Provider would join a group of five board certified Internal Medicine Hospitalists. Responsibilities include vent management, seeing and managing patients in an ACU, all hospital admissions to the medical/surgical floors, and providing consultative support to surgical and subspecialty services.

This position’s key responsibilities encompass general Internal Medicine Hospitalist duties, including but not limited to:
- Diagnose, treat, and provide continuous care to hospital inpatients
- Assess, evaluate, and create an ongoing treatment plan for patients admitted to the hospital, making referrals for consultative services when appropriate.
- Establish goals and readiness for discharge while playing an active role in discharge planning
- Prescribe therapy, medication, and other specialized medical care as needed to hospital inpatients
- Monitor patient’s condition and reevaluate treatments as necessary
- Order necessary diagnostic studies and appropriately interpret to effect ongoing clinical management
- Maintain patient’s medical information by collecting medical histories and recording examination results and reports
- Communicate processes of medical procedures, test results, and prescribed treatments with patient
- Basic competence in critical care, including working with a ventilator and Respiratory Specialist. Proficiency in central line placement in preferred
- Complete all medical documentation accurately and in a timely manner
- Work with Fairview Range’s Tele-ICU program
- Report to Medical Director. Work effectively with nursing team, radiology, social service, and other departments as necessary
- Communicate appropriately (written or verbal) with community primary care providers managing patient care post discharge, including provision of discharge summaries
- Foster and nurture a positive work culture with interdepartmental relationships and interactions
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a high caliber of quality patient and family experience via providing effective communication and support
The position has responsibility across the medical unit, surgical unit, and acute care unit (excluding pediatrics).
