Director, Office of Science Policy, Planning, and Communications
(Scientific Executive, Title 42 Series)

The National Institute of Mental Health, a major research component of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), is seeking an exceptional candidate for the position of Director, Office of Science Policy, Planning, and Communications (OSPPC). The OSPPC Director reports directly to the NIMH Director. The OSPPC Director plans and directs a comprehensive program of strategic and program planning, science program and related policy evaluation and analysis, science communications policy development and implementation, and information dissemination.

Applicants must possess an advanced degree (MD or PhD) in a mental health relevant discipline with extensive experience in science policy, evaluation and analysis, and scientific communications. In addition, candidates must have experience and demonstrated ability in the administration and management of a major science policy or advocacy program.

Salary is commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and full Federal benefits, including leave, health insurance, retirement and savings plan (401K equivalent) will be provided.
