The Department of Laboratory Medicine is seeking a clinical biochemist to join another clinical chemist in a progressive biochemistry laboratory team for the Geisinger Health System.  The position is based at the new, state-of-the-art central laboratory in Danville, PA.  The successful candidate will lead innovation in clinical chemistry services, and share system responsibility for chemistry and subspecialty chemistry areas. The clinical chemists assure quality, harmonization, and standardization at 7 hospital laboratories, 8 regional labs and the new central reference lab. The core laboratory performs more than 5,000,000 tests annually. The Laboratory Medicine department includes 30 pathologists and PhD’s, 12 of whom are active in CP responsibilities.  Clinical research is encouraged.

A PhD with board certification or eligibility in clinical chemistry is required. Experience directing a clinical chemistry laboratory, subspecialty expertise and a background that includes research and teaching are desirable.

Outpatient services are available on and off campus.
