Director of CVICU

We are seeking a CVICU Medical Director that is board certified in both pediatric critical care medicine and cardiology. Those with Critical Care Medicine or Pediatric Cardiology certification who have demonstrated a clear track record in providing care and leadership in a CVICU will also be considered.

In a metro of over 3.8MM people, this university recently opened a new, state-of-the-art, 227,000 sq ft pediatric facility that includes a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that supports 12 CVICU beds and 12 medical/surgical beds with approximately 1000 admissions annually. As the region's premier pediatric teaching hospital, physicians here enjoy full medical, surgical, and trauma subspecialist coverage, while working with trainees from a number of superior medical and surgical residency and fellowship programs.

• CVICU currently supports congenital heart surgery patients, ECMO, and a cardiac transplant program which includes a VAD program
• University Children’s Hospital also houses some of the leading pediatric clinical programs in the country, including organ transplantation, blood and marrow transplants, cancer treatments, and cardiovascular surgery
• This full-time position would require clinical time primarily in the CVICU, and could also include some coverage of the Medical/Surgical ICU, cardiology service, or cardiology clinic depending on the applicant’s qualifications and interests
