The Women’s Malignancies Branch (WMB), Center for Cancer Research (CCR) of the National Cancer Institute (NCI), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Bethesda, Maryland, invites applications for a clinical tenure track principal investigator position in breast and ovarian cancer research or other malignancies. The applicant must have an MD-or equivalent degree, be board certified in Medical Oncology, have a strong record of clinical research accomplishments, and the potential to establish a vigorous mechanism-based clinical research program investigating the treatment of breast and/or gynecological malignancies. The position provides salary and full funding for a clinical research program, including office space, budget, support staff, and clinical and translational research infrastructure. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience. The WMB (https://ccr.cancer.gov/Womens-Malignancies-Branch) is dedicated to improving the outcomes for patients with breast and gynecological malignancies. Specific areas of active research within WMB include: receptor tyrosine kinase signaling, induction of apoptosis in breast cancer cells, prevention of metastasis, the role of NFk-B in ovarian cancer, and targeting defects in the DNA damage response pathways in breast and ovarian cancer. Applicants with interest in therapies targeting DNA damage pathways or other key pathways in breast and ovarian cancer are encouraged to apply.
