The Rheumatology Division at SUNY Downstate Medical Center seeks an academically oriented, scholarly, clinically adept faculty member at the Assistant or Associate Professor level who is committed to an academic career. The Rheumatology Division trains four fellows who rotate through three major teaching hospitals. The division is highly regarded for its clinical training and experience in carrying out clinical trials and epidemiologic/outcomes research. Primary responsibilities will include participation in the Rheumatology fellowship training program; the education of fellows, residents, and medical students; a full range of clinical activities at University Hospital of Brooklyn located on the SUNY DMC campus, as well as the development of independent research. Candidates must be board-certified in Internal Medicine and board-eligible in Rheumatology at the time of the appointment, and will be expected to become board-certified in Rheumatology within a year afterappointment. A record of publications and training in clinical research and/or performance of musculoskeletal ultrasound is highly desirable.
