Physician Scientist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level

The Division of Infectious Diseases at the UC Davis School of Medicine is recruiting for a physician scientist at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Ladder Rank (tenure-track) series with demonstrated scientific expertise in any area of infectious diseases, including but not limited to microbial pathogenesis, immunology, the human microbiome, epidemiology, and infections in compromised hosts. Appointees to the Ladder Rank series are required to conduct independent research demarcated by regular publication and external funding, engage in teaching on a regular and significant basis, and participate in University and public service. Additionally, clinical practice in infectious diseases is required in this position.

Candidates must possess an MD, or MD/PhD degree, or equivalent, and be board certified or board eligible in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases, and be eligible for a California medical license. The ability to develop an independent research program in the area of infectious diseases, a record of publication, as well as the ability to advance collaboration in infectious diseases-related disciplines is required. Experience teaching fellows, residents, medical and/or graduate students and demonstrated clinical experience caring for infectious diseases patients are required. The ability to work cooperatively and collegially within a diverse environment is required. A record of extramural funding, including having received an NIH K or R award is preferred.
