Job Details
Stamford Hospital, located in highly desirable region of Connecticut, is seeking a Division Director of Urology. With the steadfast support of hospital leadership and the Chair of Surgery, Dr. Michael Stone, this Division Director will have the autonomy to build a urology division within a brand new, world-class 300-bed facility due to open in 2016.
Stamford Hospital is equipped with a new DaVinci robot and state-of-the-art equipment providing the Division leader the ability to have a practice they desire. Stamford Hospital serves Fairfield and Westchester counties and is an affiliate of the New York-Presbyterian Healthcare System and a major teaching affiliate of the Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons.
Position Description (including but not limited to):
- Position reports to: Chair, Department of Surgery
- Overseeing all clinical care efforts within the Division of Urology at Stamford Hospital
- Rendering services as a urologist, is an active clinician and member in good standing of the medical staff
- Making administrative decisions related to Urology within established operating philosophy, goals, and objectives of Stamford Hospital
- Assuring quality of services through the establishment of clinical standards, quality metrics and benchmarks, and iterative assessment of programs and outcomes
- Taking a leadership role in business development efforts for the Division of Urology geared to
- Promoting growth and expansion of services, along with financial success
- Collaborating with nursing and other disciplines in assuring high quality care
Candidate Description:
- Completed an ACGME-accredited urology residency program
- Board certified by the American Board of Urology
- Currently holds, or have the ability to obtain, Connecticut state licensure
- Exemplifies leadership qualities to successfully develop a urology program within a renowned organization
- Exceptional communication skills required to effectively interact with colleagues and execute a vision for the program
- Prefer leadership experience, however, willing to consider candidates who are passionate and dedicated to building a program centered on open communication and patient care
