The Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology (http://www.med.nyu.edu/medicine/id/) and the Department of Population Health (http://www.med.nyu.edu/pophealth/) at the NYU School of Medicine, are seeking investigators at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor with a focus on infectious diseases at the population or health systems level. Qualified candidates must have: an MD or PhD degree and a strong track record of research pertaining to infectious diseases that draws on methods from epidemiology, comparative effectiveness, decision science, modeling, and/or healthcare delivery science. For physician candidates, board certification or eligibility in infectious diseases is preferred.
Examples of areas of research focus for which strong collaborative opportunities exist include:
- Elucidating the dynamics, risks, and impact of infectious diseases as well as prevention/treatment strategies at the population level using mathematical/computational modeling or informatics-based approaches. Experience in field data collection, multidisciplinary collaborations, and/or modeling to inform policy decisions is of particular interest.
- Healthcare system strategies for effective and appropriate antibiotic utilization in inpatient and outpatient settings, and for hot spotting of hospital or community infections to mitigate transmission.
Associate or Full Professor candidates must have an established track record of extramurally-funded, innovative research. Assistant Professor candidates must have a strong background in training with a high likelihood of success in developing an independent, extramurally-funded research program.
For consideration, please submit your CV and letter of interest describing your research to: Joel D. Ernst, MD, Director, Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, New York University School of Medicine; E-mail: joel.ernst@med.nyu.edu.
