The North Shore-LIJ Health System is seeking a Director, Psychiatric Emergency Service LIJ Medical Center, New Hyde Park, NY

Unique opportunity

  • Run the flagship Psychiatric Emergency Service (8000+ visits/year) at the largest health system in New York State (21 hospitals, 60,000+ employees, 10,000+ physicians)
  • Leadership team includes two Associate Directors, Nurse Manager, Program Manager, Coordinator
  • Staff of 50 includes Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, Social Workers, and Nurses. Plus trainees.
  • Position is 1 day/week clinical, with remaining time for administration and academics

Administration

  • Leadership role in Dept. of Psychiatry as Division Chief of Emergency Psychiatry
  • Leadership role in Dept. of Emergency Medicine as Director of Behavioral Emergency Medicine
  • Leadership role in TeleHealth network as Director of Eastern Region TelePsychiatry
  • Leadership committee role in system operations related to population health, crisis stabilization, EMS
  • Resources and autonomy to develop novel methodologies in staffing, workflow, process improvement

Academics

  • Academic appointment in Psychiatry at the top-ranked Zucker Hillside Hospital
  • Academic appointment in Emergency Medicine at LIJ Medical Center
  • Classroom and clinical teaching of rotating Residents, Fellows, Medical Students, NP/PA/EMT students.
  • Two paid national or international conferences per year
  • Extensive research and publication opportunities

Compensation

  • Excellent base salary- nationally competitive

Salary Disclosure

Full-time clinical base compensation at Northwell Health ranges from $125K to $750K, which is impacted by various factors, including but not limited to physician specialty, level of experience, quality of care, academic accomplishments, patient experience and productivity. The base compensation range listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
